Our History

Muzinich & Co., Inc. was founded in New York in 1988 by George Muzinich. The firm was established on the personal beliefs of its founder. These values – transparency, integrity and client service – are at the core of everything we say and do today.

The firm’s expertise in fundamental credit research has been the foundation for our growth:

• We launched our first US high yield bond fund in September 1990.
• We opened our London office in 1999 and applied Muzinich’s proven proprietary credit research process to an emerging European high yield market.
• We launched our first European high yield bond fund in 2000.
• We started investing in bank loans in 2001 and launched our first dedicated bank loan fund in 2006.
• We launched a long/short credit-oriented hedge fund in 2002.
• We have been managing specialized investment grade bond portfolios since 2002.
• We currently manage over USD 5 billion in corporate credit on behalf of institutional investors.
